can someone explain the reacion between AgCl and HCl?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There shouldn't be any reaction.

Ok, so I now have an answer. People who have only had a year of high school chem say that there is no reaction. In actuality... Because the silver is a transition metal with an empty d orbital, Lewis bases flock to it. The Cl- ions in soluble HCl act as this lewis base. Thus, the lewis base, otherwise known as a ligand, bonds with the silver in 2's, double the charge of the silver ion
