[2(x+3) -4(x-5)] / (x-5)(x+3) = 8/(x^2-9)
(26-2x)/ (x-5)(x+3) = 8/ [(x-3)(x+3) ]
multiply both sides by (x+3)
(26-2x)/ (x-5) = 8/(x-3)
Cross Multiply
(26-2x)(x-3) = 8(x-5)
-2x^2 -72x - 78 =8x -40
2x^2+80x+38 =0 x^2 +40x +19 =0
You have to solve the last thing by quadratic formula.

so than x_1,_2=(12+/-sqrt(144-76))/2 =(12+/-sqrt(68))/2 =6+/-sqrt(17)
