how is electronegativity related to the ionic or covalent character of a bond? A. if there is a large difference in electronegativity then the bond is more ionic in character. Whereas if the electronegativity of the atoms is more similar, the bond has a more covalent character. B. electronegativity has nothing to do with bond character C. a small difference in electronegativity is indicative of an ionic bond, and the opposite is true for a covalent bond D. none of the above is correct

Answer is A. Covalent means electronegativity is similar between two atoms therefore the atoms will share electron pairs. Ionic means there is a large difference between electornegativity values therefore one atom will donate electrons and the other will take them. ====bioboumani====
