Living prices rose 32% while wages rose only 8% then the stock markets crashed borrowing shares from the local banks with promises of high returns. Prices drifed downward . Stocks market felled businesses closed Manufacter layed off worker , that bought decline in spending. Many banks began to fail, depositers withdrew there funds costing thousands of families all there savings and a 86% plunge inagricultural prices between 1929 and 1933 brought terrible suffering to america's farmers. At the time unemployment insurance did not exist and publick relief was completely inadequate, the loss of jobs could mean economic catastrophe for workers and there families. So now we have a massive unemployment across america witch led into the deep depression.
