When dissolved beryllium chloride reacts with dissolved silver nitrate in water, aqueous beryllium nitrate and silver chloride powder are made. how would you write this in a chemical equation When dissolved beryllium chloride reacts with dissolved silver nitrate in water, aqueous beryllium nitrate and silver chloride powder are made. how would you write this in a chemical equation @Chemistry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

berilium chloride means it contain elements Be and Cl ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nw Be i found in 2nd group means Be+2 and cl hav cl-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

crossss multiplicatn

OpenStudy (anonymous):

similarly silver nitrate nw u guess elements and their charge try

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i didnt understan the cross multiplication part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok here u have to cross the charge Be has +2 which was given to cl and the -1charge og cl it was given to be

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then how come it isnt be-1cl2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but when we put it into compund we dont see sign it was neglected in crosmultiplication so it is be1cl2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but it would actually have a negative one it just wouldnt be shown in the equation right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes luk sign are seen only in ions like NO3-1 nitrate or conjugate base which u will tudy further

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nw in silver nitrate it will AgNO3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NO3 means nitrite right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no NO3-1 will be nitrite NO3 nitrate wait i m giving a chart ok which may help u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in dis box jt put compound and remove oxygen and name it like in dis hyponitrite nitrite nitrate =compund taken by you pernitrate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx alot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now we will make the equation here u r said that BeCl2+AgNO3------>AgCl2+BeNO3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u got it :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there i one more step that i balancing but in the abpve equation there is no need do u know balancing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya the only thing im not exactley sure about is the nitrite

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now u got it when we will say nitrite

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in the chart u jt have to write like in nitrite NO3-1 becaue u remove 1 oxygen in hyponitrite u remove 1 oxygen den it will be NO2-1 and so on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did u know u had to remove one oxeygen

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a rule or u can say trick to remeber :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in every step u removed only 1 oxygen u can see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but in down the step u added 1 oxygen

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but like in an equation how would u know which would be the right nitrite

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm,.. in the chart it was mention the choses comput will have ate if u go up it contain ite

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm,.. in the chart it was mention the choses compound will have ate if u go up it contain ite

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do u get it or still confused??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i get it thanks a million

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its my pleasure nw gtg its too late i have to wake up early so bye....
