A force of 160 N stretches a spring 0.050m from its equilibrium position. a.) What is the spring constant of this spring? b.) What magnitude force is required to stretch the spring 0.015m from equilibrium? c.) How much work is done in stretching the spring 0.015m? @MIT 8.01 Physics …

This uses the spring force equation F=k*s. The spring constant, k has units of N/m so divide the force by the length of stretch to get k. Then solve the equation for F using k and s=0.015m. The work = F*s.
