Quadrilateral RSTV has vertices R(-4, 6), S(4, 5), T(6, 3), and V(5, -8). Find the perimeter of the quadrilateral. I use the distance formula right?
you could...if i were you i would just graph it and find the distances by counting the blocks. doing the distance formula for all of them is a lot more work!
yeah four times!
@roxygurl there are any boxes on this graph... which sucks.. @satellite seriously?? :(((
Distance Formula four times.
Get out a piece of graph paper and try it roxy
nevermind. i didn't realize the quad has sloped lines. looked like you're stuck with the distance formula !
okay so i did it for the points r-->s and then t--->v now i find the distance from r-->t and s-->v?
yup. distance between (-4, 6) and (4,5) is \[\sqrt{65}\] distance between (4,5) and (6,3) is \[2\sqrt{2}\] distance between (6,3) and (5,-8) is \[\sqrt{122}\] and distance between (5,-8) and (-4,8) is \[\sqrt{337}\] i think i ordered them correctly
you so didnt have to do that for me...
but the distance between (5,-8) and (-4,6) is \[\sqrt{277}\] you made a mistake with the y2 value of the second coordinate
