A cube with a mass of 2.5 kg slodes down from the top of a frictionless ramp 1.5m high. The ramp is 32.6 degrees with respect to the horizontal. What is the work done by the force exerted by the cube when it reaches the bottom of the ramp?

OpenStudy (wasiqss):

2.5*1.5cos32

OpenStudy (wasiqss):

oh sorry mulitply by 9.8 also

OpenStudy (moongazer):

please show your solutions

OpenStudy (moongazer):

I think it should be 30.96J

OpenStudy (anonymous):

weight = m x a = 2.5 x 9.8 =24.5 and distance travelled = 1.5 x cos 32.6 =1.2637 work done = 24.5*1.2637 =30.9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it should be 36.75 by mgh, the force here is mgsin instead of ma but we dont need that cause the only thing that asked here is the work which is -potential energy.

OpenStudy (moongazer):

you are correct kevinfrankly congrats! :)

thanks
