Use any method to simplify the complex fraction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\left(\begin{matrix}9z^3x^7 \\ 25\end{matrix}\right)/\left(\begin{matrix}45x^4z^6 \\ 35\end{matrix}\right)\]

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

there are 9z2x7/25/45x4z6/35 ??? so if yes than will be 9z2x7/25 * 35/45x4z6 =7x3/25z4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry they werent supposed to be divided that was just the line between the 2 fractions.

myininaya (myininaya):

\[\frac{9z^3x^7}{25} \cdot \frac{35}{45x^4z^6}=\frac{9 \cdot 35}{25 \cdot 45} \cdot \frac{z^3}{z^6} \cdot \frac{x^7}{x^4}\]

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

Yea...what myininaya said :) You can check your answer here: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%289z%5E3*x%5E7*25%29%2F%2845x%5E4*z%5E6*35%29

myininaya (myininaya):

\[\frac{9 \cdot 5 \cdot 7}{25 \cdot 3 \cdot 5 \cdot 3} \cdot \frac{1}{z^{6-3}} \cdot x^{7-4}\]

myininaya (myininaya):

\[\frac{ \not{9} \cdot \not{5} \cdot 7}{25 \cdot \not{5} \cdot \not{3} \cdot \not{3}} \cdot \frac{1}{z^3} x^3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is x^3? no wait no its not...

myininaya (myininaya):

you said \[\frac{9z^3x^7}{25} \div \frac{45x^4z^6}{35} \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry their is no division that was supposed to be the line between the 2 different fractions.

myininaya (myininaya):

the answer to the problem you stated above is \[\frac{7x^3}{25z^3}\]

myininaya (myininaya):

so you are saying it is now \[ \frac{9z^3x^7}{25} \times \frac{45x^4z^6}{35} \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

On my screen it just shows fraction one and 2 like this ill draw it.

myininaya (myininaya):

so it isn't what i just typed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No it shows it weird i dont know how to draw it... ill just go to another problem and how do you draw those lines between the numbers?

myininaya (myininaya):

are you talking about fraction bars?

myininaya (myininaya):

go to equation and type frac{something}{another something} \[\frac{something}{ another something}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright ill try that and show you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{9z^3x^7}{25\frac}\frac{45x^4z^6}{35}\]

myininaya (myininaya):

\[\frac{\frac{9z^3x^7}{25}}{\frac{45x^4z^6}{35}}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it looks like that... sorry i tried typing it i must have gone wrong somewhere sorry :/

myininaya (myininaya):

that means the samething as this \[\frac{9z^3x^7}{25} \div \frac{45x^4z^6}{35} \]

myininaya (myininaya):

that fraction bar in between the two fractions means we are taking top fraction and dividing it by bottom fraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh sorry i did not know that im terrible at math...

myininaya (myininaya):

and what i did to get it to work was this: frac{frac{9z^3x^7}{25}}{frac{45x^4z^6}{35}} \[\frac{\frac{9z^3x^7}{25}}{\frac{45x^4z^6}{35}} \]

myininaya (myininaya):

frac{topfraction}{bottomfraction} \[\frac{topfraction}{bottomfraction} \]

myininaya (myininaya):

so if we want \[\frac{\frac{a}{b}}{\frac{c}{d}}\] we do frac{frac{a}{b}}{frac{c}{d}} toppart bottompart

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks that is good to know.

myininaya (myininaya):

and you also know fraction bar is division

myininaya (myininaya):

the more you learn right lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes the more i learn the better lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what would be the answer to the division of the 2 fractions?

myininaya (myininaya):

i did that above

myininaya (myininaya):

thats what i thought the problem was at the beginning

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh lol thanks let me go back...
