(8x^4-4x^3+2x^2+13x+8)/(2x+1) please help me out with this one, i got stuck after the first 2 steps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[2x+1\div((8x^4)-(4x^3)+(2x^2)+(13x)+8\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Try rewriting the equation into (2x+1)(ax^3+bx^2+cx+d) We get: 2ax^4+(a+2b)x^3+(b+2c)x^2+(c+2d)x+d now just solve for a,b,c and d

foucs first on the first and second term... 8x^4 - 4x^3..

long division is a pain to write. luckily it is written out here for you if you click on "show steps" http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%288x^4-4x^3%2B2x^2%2B13x%2B8%29%2F%282x%2B1%29

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

8x4-4x3+2x2+13x+8/2x+1 = 4x3-4x2+3x+5 8x4+4x3 -------- 0 -8x3+2x2 -8x3-4x2 ----------- 0 6x2+13x 6x2+3x ----------- 0 10x+8 10x+5 ------- 0 3

wow nice! good typesetting i always mess it up. in any case "show steps" works nicely for these as well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

think on what must be the no. and or expresion you must multiply to 2x +1 to have an answer of 8x^4 - 4x^3
