Just for fun: A frog is 13 metres away from well! In the first time, it jumped 7.5 metres, and in second it jumped 3.75 metres.. And in nth jump, it finally fell into the well. What is the value of n?

Hmm the question's a bit misleading - it explicitly states the frog does indeed reach the well. Instead of "And in nth jump, it finally fell into the well. What is the value of n?" it should be something to the effect of "When will the frog reach the well?" to which "Never" is the answer :-P That's what I think anyway!
I'm still scratching my head a bit. If the frog jumps half the previous jump it will reach the well. If it jumps half the distance remaining to the well it wont; which based on the information given it isn't doing.
True, I didn't notice that. I took it as half the distance remaining as most problems of this nature generally contain. In that case you're right, 7.5 + 3.75 + 1.875 = 13.125 hence 3 jumps, in the well he lands.
iF you solve the geometric sequence sum shown above for n you would get n = 2.9 Therefore the frog would indeed fall into the well on the 3rd jump
i must have gone wrong somewhere a = 7.5 and r = 0.5 right?
