\[F=ma=m\frac{\Delta v}{\Delta t}\]where m is mass, v is velocity, and t is time. Delta (the triangle, if you don;t know it) represents a change in the variable next to it. Plug in and solve for F

how much does the velocity change? that is Delta v how much does the time change? that is Delta t what are those two numbers?

Delta v is how much the velocity changed. It says we went from 10m/s to rest (0m/s). so Delta v is 10 what about Delta t? how much time did it take for that to happen?
