Calculate the time in which a tuning fork of frequency 256 Kz. completes 32 vibrations?Answer needed urgently. Pl. help. Thanks !
Well, frequency tells you how many times something happens in 1 second. so in 1 second you get 256 vibrations (I suppose Kz should be Hz, if it should be kHz then you have 256 000 vibrations in a sec). I think it is pretty easy now to calculate how much time it would take to get 32 vibrations.
Thank you Gogind. but, can you give me the precise calculations, as it is important for my assignment and the resultant answer ? Would appreciate your help . Am repeating the question : Calculate the time in which a tuning fork of frequency 256 Kz. completes 32 vibrations?Answer needed urgently. Pl. help. Thanks ! S.Ramya
I don't like to just spit out a solution for you, so I'll try to guide you to it. So you know how many vibrations you get in 1 second? Well yes, you know the frequency! So you know that in 1 second there are 256 vibrations (since it's a tuning fork It has to be 256 Hz, I don't know what Kz is, I suppose it's a typo). 256 Hertz, or Hz, means that the tuning fork vibrates 256 times in one sec. So, how long does it take to vibrate 32 times? It takes 256/32 times LESS then what it takes for 256 vibrations, so that's 1/(256/32) seconds, that is 0.125 seconds. Or you can say it takes 32/256 times MORE then what it takes for 256 vibrations, so that's (32/256)*1 seconds. Again you get 0.125 seconds. If you want I could write you a general formula of some sort, but I really don't think it is necessary.
thank you very much goging!
you've been very patient in explaining , I am much obliged and understood it clearly! Wishing you and other friends a very happy new year 2012 :)
No problem, and I wish a happy new year to you too! :D
