Is anyone good at set operations. I just started finite math in college and I am lost on the first day. For example one problem is: Let U= {1,3,5,6,7}, A= {1,6}, B= {3,5}. In each of the following questions, find the indicated set; give your answer in list form i.e., the way that U, A, and B are given (remember to give braces). To indicate that a set is empty, write down the braces with nothing inside them i.e. {} (1) Find A' A'=__________________ (2) Find A' n B' A' n B' =____________________ (3) Find A u B A u B =_____________________ Note: 3 more to find on other post
\[A^'\] is everything in U that is not in A
so list the elements of U except for 1 and 6
in order to find \[A^'\cap B'\] first you will need to find \[B'\]
\[B'=\{1,6,7\}\] and then \[A^'\cap B'\] will be anything that is in A' AND in B'
and finally \[A\cup B\] is anything that is in A OR in B so list everything you see in A and everything in B

very clear it is a lot easier than i am making it to be I believe. I just have scattered notes and no text book yet thank you so much
a textbook will help, but there are also tons of recourses on the web for this stuff
