sorry guys but I need this question answered. when they say Write the equation for beta decay of barium 137. do they mean the equation that produces or a product of barium when beta decay occurs
when barium decays into a beta particle and other products
ie barium is in the left hand side of the equation only
help me do this one please
ok
i dont think \[^{137}_{56}Ba\]does exhibit beta decay . Are you sure you have the right question?
yes thats what i saw too i cant find anything because it says its stable. let me get the whole question.
i) Write the equation if Polonium 210 undergoes alpha radiation. ii) Write the equation for beta decay of barium 137.
thats the question
well \[^{210}Po \rightarrow ^{206}Pb+^4\alpha\]
yeah I did the first one but the second
if this was the question "Write the equation for beta decay 'to' barium 137" then this would be your answer \[^{137}Cs \rightarrow ^{137}Ba + ^-\beta\]but i think whoever wrote the question made a mistake
I think so
because I have a question that say Zn 57 but I suppose its Zn67
i) What is the equation for the beta decay that would produce zinc 57? Be sure to check which kind of beta decay it would be. ii) Would this still be the same for zinc 66? Explain. I have this one too B part as well
