All of the following atoms will form cations when a stable outer shell electron configuration is attained except a. beryllium b. nitrogen c. barium d. sodium
nitrogen
if u are saying that cation then dont u think chmvijay that it will be beryilium and barium too as they were also not ready to be in cation as they loose their stable configuration along with nitrogen??
no beryllium and barium are ready to lose electron but in case of nitrogen it is not like that nitrogen needs the electron to be in order to achive high stability as it is more electronegative where as others are more electropositive metal atoms!!! their tendency is to lose electrons
Yes, it is Nitrogen
i agree but if Be and Ba loose electron they will loose their stability thats why we are saying ioniation energy i high of group 2 as compare to group 1 and 13 say??
*ionisation energy
