An architect needs to determine the slope between two points on a ski lift. The two points have been identified as (15, 45) and (150, 60), where x is the horizontal distance and y is the vertical distance from the bottom of the lift. Assuming the lift runs in a straight line, what is the slope of the line between the two points? Please help me.

Remember, the slope between two points is the rise over the run- in other words, \[(y _{2}-y_{1})\div( x_{2}-x_{1})\] so take the y components of the points and subtract them (it doesn't matter which number you subtract from which) and do the same for the x components, in the same order as the y components. So, \[(60-45)/(150-15)= 15/135\] or 0.11.
