Which of the following is not a correct chemical equation for a double displacement reaction? CaCl + LiCO3 CaCO3 + LiCl Na3PO4 + 3 KOH 3 NaOH + K3PO4 2 MgI2 + Mn(SO3)2 2 MgSO3 + MnI4 2 RbNO3 + BeF2 Be(NO3)2 + 2 RbF

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be Na3PO4+ 3 KOH 3 NaOH + K3PO4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah it is. cuz it's not balanced

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You got it right. But it's because sodium cannot switch positions with potassium because its in a lower spot on the metal reactivity serious

OpenStudy (anonymous):

series*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you alive :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol yes silly :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thankx i wasn't sure if i got it correct. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anytime. anyways I should sleep it's almost 6 AM and i haven't got rest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha nooo what if i need u :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol okie dokes :) i'm about to do mine then get some sleep, i've been up all night cramming and taking exams lol. "fun" :p hehe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hehe yeah. but my sexy body needs some rest soo hasta la vista XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and yeah soo "fun"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hehe k. :p sleep tite

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you too :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i will eventually...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahaha

OpenStudy (jfraser):

whether or not sodium could replace potassium, that's still a valid double displacement reaction. To me, the improper one is #1, calcium chloride is CaCl2, not CaCl.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i go for 2 as @ Beautifulgirl17 said and reason is k is more reactive than Na so it cannot displace it from the compound
