Solve a definite integral using Simpson's Rule
\[\int\limits_{0}^{6}x ^{2}dx\]
Using Simp(2)
This is just chug and plug I believe.
it will be the same as the actual answer
what?
Yes Zarkon is right, but actually simpson formula would be tedious in this case.
simpsons rule is exact for a quadratic function
lol fool i need to use it though
can you tell me the formula of simpson's rule?
6/6[ f(0) + 4f( .5 ) + 2f(1) + 4f(1.5) + 2f( 2) + 4f( 2.5) + 2f( 3) + 4f ( 3.5) + 2f( 4) + 4f (4.5 ) +2 f( 5) +4 f( 5.5 ) + f( 6) ]
Btw If I remember correctly there is another constraints that should be involved which is number of decimal places.
oh Thanks Zarkon :D
Well we learnt the formula (2M+T)/3
I guess this is pretty tedious
try computing the error estimate :)
Yes it is but this formula useful for somewhat complicated integrals.
yea, som thing cannot be integrated( easily) this is sometime a way to approximate a solution.
Thanks zarkon <Roachie and fool
just try to have fun with it!
LOL Trying but mt brain is fried lol
you can find the definite integral?
lol I am in the midst of figuring it out
ok then do it with Simp and see!
