Physics 6 Online
OpenStudy (anonymous):

A student in Denver (altitude = 1 mile = 1609 m above sea level) brings a physics book of mass 1 kg to the top of a ten story building of height 35 m and holds the book over her head 128 cm above the roof. What is the gravitational potential energy Ug of the book? 1. Ug = 16140.2 J 2. Ug = 355.907 J 3. Ug = 0 J 4. Cannot be determined 5. Ug = 12.5568 J 027 (part 1 of 3)

OpenStudy (turingtest):

With respect to sea-level we have Ug=mgh=1(9.8)(1609+36+1.28) which seems to be pretty close to the first answer. not exact though :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's exact if you use g=9.81 :)

details details haha
