What is the density of the solid object that is weighed and submerged in water? The weights object is 8.24g and is places in a beaker filled with 18.5 mL of water. When It is placed in the water, it rises to 23.1 mL.

I also have to express my answer to two significant figures. The equation that I use is density= Mass/Volume. I used both qualities but I doesn't seem to be accepting it. I know that the units will be g/mL. Anything I'm missing?

If you think about this logically, the volume of the object placed in the water will be equal to the amount of water that it DISPLACES, not equal to either the initial or final volumes. Find how many mL of water the object displaces, and then calculate density using that volume.
