OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the hydrogen ion concentration of a pH 3.8 solution higher or lower than that of a solution with a pH of 6.2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-log[H+]=pH, so when the concentration of the hydrogen ion goes up, pH goes down and vice versa; 3.8 is a higher concentration of the ion than 6.2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pH is defined as negative log of H+ concentration to the base 10 in gram ion per liter pH=-log[H+] in a pH scale if concentration of H+ and OH- is equal the pH will be 7 as in the case of neutral H2O...now as concentration of H+increases pH decreases and inversely as concentration oh OH- increases the pH increases hence we can conclude from above discription that pH 3.8 will have more H+ concentration...|dw:1327644283271:dw|
