Why are the orbitals of the hydrogen described as "probability maps"? Why are the edges of the hydrogen orbitals sometimes drawn to appear "fuzzy"? (meaning why are the orbitals fuzzy?)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They are called probability clouds because you can't tell exactly where the electron will be. Then you can calculate where you think they might be but being exact is impossible. The edges are fuzzy because the electron can go there but is not as likley to be there than the darker shaded areas.

Most orbitals are drawn with the assumption that "we think, the electrons are here" but due to their speed and size we can't pin them down, any more than we could pick a speck of dust out of the air.
