Starting from benzene how will you prepare the following:(1)Acetophenone (2)m_nitrotoluene(3)p_nitrobenzoic acid

1) This is a direct friedel Craft acylation with CH3COCl in presence of lewis acid AlCl3.
2) This would be nitration (conc HNO3 + conc H2SO4) followed by friedel craft alkylation(CH3Cl+AlCL3)
3)You could do this by first Friedel craft alkylation CH3Cl+AlCl3 followed by nitration(conc HNO3+conc H2SO4) and then KMnO4 to oxidize the CH3 group to carboxylic acid thereby giving the required product.
