balanced equation for Mg(No3)2+Cu 2. Cu+ Zn(No3)2 3. Ag(No3)+Cu

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your querry not very clear

OpenStudy (jfraser):

Are you asking:\[Mg(NO_{3})_{2} + Cu \rightarrow ??\] so you need to know what the products will be? These are all single-displacement reactions, where the metal ion will be replaced. The first one should finish:\[\rightarrow Cu(NO_{3})_{2} + Mg\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But isn't that reaction not possible as in Mg is above Copper in the reactivity series?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

whether it would happen or not may be what they're asking, but if it did, that's what it would look like. If the intent is to use the activity series, then you'd have no reaction.

the only reaction which can take place is the one of : 2Ag(No3)+Cu ___ Cu(No3)2 + 2Ag
