Suppose that the student working besides you on the laboratory bench spills one of the liquids she is using in this experiment. - What reagent could you use to determine whether the spilled liquid is 0.10M NaOH? Briefly explain what you would observe using this reagent if the liquid were 0.10M NaOH.

OpenStudy (2bornot2b):

Though it shows 23 users online, but most of them are currently in other groups. So it would be best to try the chat rooms of popular groups like Mathematics ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-_____- I did that last time and some guy got mad because I posted it in the Math and Physics groups and told me to delete it.

OpenStudy (2bornot2b):

I am sorry if I confused you, I meant it helps asking in the chat rooms, I never meant that it helps posting this question in the Maths group. Just use the chat rooms to attract people to chemistry group, or rather to your question, by posting the link on the respective chat rooms.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhh okay gotcha

OpenStudy (2bornot2b):

And obviously posting the question in a group where it is not supposed to be is against the code of conduct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU WANT TO POST THE SAME QUESTION?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Frank Lampard is awesome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That ain't funny dude thats the third time you posted the same question even though you got the answer the first time...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No I never got the full answer, just partial the first time. Plus whats the problem with asking the question over and over again especially that kind of question where different answers could apply and not everyone is online at the same time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you have answer to this question...I would be glad to hear it too..the more the merry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You add HCl and then neutralize it, if you asked the question a week back and got no answer fine, but you are posting questions in a span of a couple of hours. Anyway, if you have a base then how would you neutralize it, you tell me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

salt?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You add an acid and then neutralize it don't you? You turn it into a salt, now tell me atleast five different acids you know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anyway if you hyst want to see if the thing is a base use any indiacator- litmus, methyl orange, phenophthalein

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know any...We just began this subject...this is just a challenging question my teacher gave us to see what people know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay gotcha....Also if the test was negative...what reagent could you use to determine whether the spilled liquid is 0.050M FeCl3 and not 0.10M NaOH? What would you observe if you added this reagent to 0.050M FeCl3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anyways I have to go now....thanks for the extra help....see no harm done in posting this question a couple of times...I wouldn't have known the stuff you said if I didn't...thanks again..bye
