Why does magnesium fluoride conducts electricity when molten or in aqueous solution?(is it because of ionic bonds?)

yes as in solid state they are not in ion form while is aqueous state they are in ion form which is the main reason of conducting electricity

Just gotta love those electrolytes, most of them are ionic substances, and a few of them are even necessary for life, but this is just bonus information. heena nailed it.
