8^(6+3x)=4

OpenStudy (freckles):

\[2^{3(6+3x)}=2^2\]

OpenStudy (freckles):

set exponents equal to each other

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then what? I need to solve the equation

OpenStudy (freckles):

right!

OpenStudy (freckles):

after you have the exponents equal you distribute the 3 to (stuff)

OpenStudy (freckles):

\[18+9x=2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8^(6+3x)=4 So now divide by 4 2^(6+3x)=1 Then take logs of both sides, if i remember correctly.

OpenStudy (freckles):

\[9x=2-18 => 9x=-16 => x=-\frac{16}{9}\]
