count the sets of six cards from a standard deck of 52 cards that have at least one card in every suit. how do start this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are 6C52 different combinations of 6 cards. That will be denominator. First pick one card from each suit, then the last 2 cards can be anything. So the numerator is: 1C13 * 1C13* 1C13*1C13* 2*C48

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you say C do you mean selection? as in C for choose? And if 6 choose 52, then k > n, means 0? unless you mean the other way around, 52C6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

other way around...Number of possible six card hands = 52C6 = (52*51*50*49*48*47)/(6*5*4*3*2*1) = 20358520

ah. thanks!
