OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it collision of molecules is a necessity for chemical reaction ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is one of the factors affecting chemical reaction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ,thats mean without collision of molecules , it would never be a chemical reaction ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of course without collision there is no chemical reaction takes place and the rate of the reaction depends on how fast or slow collision takes place

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ,i got it . btw , how about activation energy Ea? what is mean by the minimum energy that needed fo chemical reaction ? why the collision must equal n greater than the Ea?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well chemical reaction consists of levels if u defined the Ea (it is the minimum energy required to start a chemical reaction ) after that we transfer to the 2nd level which is collision & that level is higher so it needs an equal or higher energy to complete the Reaction.
