You guys I'm really stuck on this question. I have an idea of what to do but it looks wrong... Okay so I 345ml of a 1.5M solution. how much 18M solution do I add to make it 4M?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

It might help to assume that the volume of concentrated acid you have to add won't make a big difference to the total volume. Find the # of moles of acid you already have in the 1.5M solution, and find the # of moles of acid you NEED if the solution were 4M. The difference between those 2 will be the moles of acid from the 18M stock you need to add. Once you have moles of concentrated stock, find the volume.
