Calc III Help. Find all the second partial derivatives. z=2xe^y - 3ye^-x

OpenStudy (amistre64):

all of them?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

that sounds like alot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have z(xx) = 3ye^-x z(yy) = 2xe^y and z(xy) = 2e^y + 3e^x

OpenStudy (amistre64):

Zx = 2e^y +3ye^-x

OpenStudy (amistre64):

Zy = 2xe^y -3e^-x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea that is what I have for both first partial derivatives.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

Zxx = -3ye^-x Zxy = 2e^y +3e^-x Zyy = 2xe^y Zyx = 2e^y +3e^-x

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its just a matter of keeping your wits about you and letting your fingers do the mathing ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea. Thank you for the help seems like I am just forgetting to bring down negatives from the exponents. Glad to know I am not completely lost.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yeah, you did fine; just focus on one thing at a time and when you know its right move to the next one ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea. Thank you again.
