anyone know how to write ionic equations i need easy steps would mean alot :) i have to do CaBr2(aq)+Na2CO2(aq)->CaCO3(s)+NaBr(aq)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

CaBr2(aq)+Na2CO3(aq)**** first part of equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You mean just what the charges are?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah something like that

GRRRRR...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't realize you corrected it from Na2C02 to Na2CO3 (Pulling my hair out)

1. Balance your equation. 2. Anything that's (aq) you can split up into its ions. I'm sure your textbook has a list of all of those. They're just tattooed in my brain from all the ochem I had to do. 3. Once you split the (aq) chemicals into their ions, now you can start crossing ions out that are on each side. (look what I did in my horrible handwriting lol). It's all baby steps. Work at it, you'll get it. This isn't as bad as redox. You're gonna have fun with redox!

You're gonna need this for redox. They will make you do redox. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCfrMvnMk0w
