Find the vertices of the hyperbola with equation: ((x-1)^2/4) - ((y+2)^2/9) = 1?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

I see that the center is (1,-2) I see that this hyperbola opens to the right and the left since x is positive I see that the a value is 3 which means that the vertices are 3 units to the right and 3 units to the left of the center. What point is 3 units to the right of (1,-2)? What point is 3 units to the left of (1,-2)? Those points are the vertices.
