The Force on a wire is a max of 6.5 x 10^-2 N, when placed between the pole faces of a magnet the current is in the horizontally right direction and the magnetic field is upward. a) what type of mag pole is the top pole face b) pole face d = 10.cm est current in field = .16T c) if the wire is tipped so that it makes a 10 degree angle with the horizontal, what is its force now?

OpenStudy (fretje):

a)Magnetic field is upward, from North pole to South pole, so top pole is South b)this part of question is not clear to me c) F = i.s x B.sin theta with theta = 90°-10° = 80° thus sin theta = 0,9848 F is smaller if angle is not 90°, so F = 6,5.10^-2N . sin 80° = 0,064 N
