water freezing. For ice melting, it releases more energy than it absorbs. The reverse for water freezing. Not sure for the boiling soup. For all neutralization, it is exothermic

but its melting process...it requires energy....if it releases energy then it will be spontaneous process....

for every reaction, it requires energy. To determine whether it is endothermic or exothermic, it depends on the energy released. If energy released is greater than the energy absorbed , it is exothermic, and vice versa

for example, for Haber process, you need energy for N2 and H2 to react, but after the reaction, N2 and H2 form a compound and releases more energy than it has absorbed. So Haber process is an exothermic reaction
