Cl2 + 2 KOH = KCl + KClO + H2O 3 KClO = 2KCl + KClO3 4 KClO3 = 3KClO4 + KCl How much Cl2 is needed to prepare 400g of KClO4??? in grams Ive got 38.056 gm
my answeris 38.056 g please verify the answer
I did not get that answer. 400 grams of KClO4 is equal to 2.89 mols. 3 KClO makes 1 KCLO3 and 4 KClO3 makes 3 KClO4. This means you have a ratio of 4:3 for KClO3 to KClO4. Simplifying that ratio gives you 4/3:1 ratio. Now multiply 4/3 by 2.89 and that gives you the amount of KClO3 you need (in mols). Now looking at the second equation, 3 KClO gives you only one mol of KClO3 so that means you have to multiply the amount of KClO3 you got previously by 3 to figure out how much KClO you need (once again in mols). Now Cl2 and KClO are in a 1:1 ratio so just multiply the number of mols of KClO by the molecular weight of Cl2 to get the answer.
just tell me Im right r wrong
ok
