thanks heena that was what i was thinking but i was reading someting it says that covalent compounds do not conduct electricity when molten or dissolved in water.but HCL is a covaent compound right.Or rather give me exaamples of covalent compounds that do not conduct electricity when dissolved in water?

alcohol take ethanol C2H5OH is a covlent compound and when mix in water it dont conduct electricity
