The function f(x)=(4x+7)e^−6x has one critical number. Find it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it \[f(x)=(4x+7)e^{-6x}\]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if so, since \[e^{-6x}>0\] it is where \[4x+7=0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it is. I found the answer actually it turned out to be 4x+7 multiplied out, which gave me 38/-24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

? it should be \[4x+7=0\] \[4x=-7\] \[x=-\frac{7}{4}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm not sure why our answers differ but I assure you I got the problem right

I used the product rule then factored and set it equal to zero
