How many grams of zinc metal will react completely with 8.2 liters of 3.5 M HCl? Show all of the work needed to solve this problem. Zn (s) + 2 HCl (aq) ZnCl2 (aq) + H2 (g)

Using the equation for molarity: M=moles/liters, we can plug in our given. 3.5M HCl = moles/8.2L moles of HCl = 28.7 Now that we have our moles of HCl, we can use the mole to mole ratio in order to find moles of Zn. 28.7 mol HCl * (1 mol Zn/ 2 mol HCl) = 14.35 moles of Zn Next, we just convert our moles of Zn to grams: 14.35 mol Zn * (65.39g Zn/ 1 mol Zn) = 938g Zn

Forgot about sig figs, the answer should be 9.4*10^2 g Zn
