this is the difference of two squares a^2 - b^2 = (a + b)(a - b)
so in your function a = 3x and b = 2
work it backwards to show that (3x-2)(3x+2)=9x^2-4 FOIL (3x-2)(3x+2)
I dont get it?
I'll try it...

always true? ?
always true for difference of 2 squares
Do i solve it as a equation?
no, just FOIL (3x+2)(3x-2), you will end up with 9x^2-4 because the -6x and the +6x cancel
a^2 = 9x^2 so a = 3x b^1 = 4 so b = 2 now plug these values into the formula for a^2 - b^2
