Guys What does it mean by centered at something in taylor's series?

its mean value of x. like if centered of taylor is at 0 i.e. x=0 then it is called maclaurin series. good luck.

one more help; when you say taylor series centered at some value doesn't that mean a=0,(or it is x=0), in the power series notation shown in wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taylor_series

when you make a power series (Taylor) aproximation of the function. You calculating it's derivatives of nth order at a chousen point to see how this function behaves. And this way make a lineal aproximation of a , in general, non lineal function. Hope this helps

if you start taking the derivatives of this Taylor polinomial, you will actualy get the same if you would taking the derivatives of a primitive function
