How would I write the ground state electron configuration for B, V, and As? I'm not too familiar with the rules on how to do this. All I know is that you write the noble gas that's a row before the element you are writing. Other than that I am blank!

You mean short hand? like\[[He]2s^22p^1=B\] All i'm doing is taking the electron configuration of the nearest previous noble gas sticking it in brackets and writing the rest of the configuration. Do you understand basic electron config. or would you like me to explain? Try V and i'll help you on that.

I understand the basic electron configuration, and I have answered those questions. But now we have to do the short hand and I didn't remember how to do it. Thank you for the help. I will try V and show you what I come up with.

Great. No problem on the help.

Ok, so for V I got: [Ar] 4s2, 3d3 and for As: [Ar] 4s2, 3d10, 4p3 Is that correct? Or close?

Perfect.
