3x + 4y + 3z = 2 –4x – 3y – 3z = 1 Add these two, z is eliminated we will get -x+y=3 ---(*) 5x + 2y + z = –2 ---(1) 3x + 4y + 3z = 2 ---(2) (1)x3 -(2) z is eliminated and we will get 12x+2y=-10 6x+y=-5 ---(3) (*)-(3) y is eliminated and we will get the value of x Put the value of x into (*) we can get the value of y Then, put the values of x and y into (1) we can find z

So how do i find the new system of equations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you mean that we have to suggest a new system of equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes i believe so, i really dont understand what the question is asking it says to eliminate z to find the new system of equations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The fastest way is to multiply all equation with a negative side If you really want to develop a new one, you can set up two equation with x,y,z while the coeff. of z is the same Then you can set up the third equation with coeff of z not equal to 1, say, -2 You can now get three equations which can be solved by elimination

Thank you so much:)
