what happens when a paper clip, made of an alloy that contains iron, is placed in an acidic solution containing copper ions?

OpenStudy (rogue):

A single replacement redox reaction is going to take place. The net ionic reaction is\[Fe (s) + Cu^{2+} (aq) \rightarrow Fe^{2+} (aq) + Cu (s)\]The iron in the paperclip will dissolve into the solution, while the copper will replace the iron in the paperclip as coating. As per the color of the solution, it will become a lighter shade of blue and the paperclip will become slightly darker. I'm not too sure on the colors, so it'd be good if someone could verify or correct me.

I think it's green! Thank you!
