Find the area of each lateral face of the regular pyramid.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

lateral area is the surface area - base area you need to find the slant height, which needs pythagoras's theorem the perpendicular height is 11cm from the base edge |dw:1334630695747:dw| so call the slant height s \[s^2 = 18^2 + 11^2\] slant height = 21.095 I'll round it to 21.1 cm the triangles are all identical... find the area of 1 and then multiply by 4 so Area = 1/2 x 22 x 21.1 Area = 232.1cm^2 4 triangles = 4 x 232.1 = 928.4 cm^2 the Lateral area is 928.4 cm^2 I think...
