what is the equivalent weight of manganese?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The molar mass of Manganese is 54.938 g mol−1 The common Manganese ion is Mn(2+) hence 2 mole electrons are transferred in the reaction. To calculate the equivalent weight simple divide 54.938 g mol(−1) by 2 eq mol(−1) giving the equivalent weight of Manganese as 27.469 g eq(-1) \[(54.938 g (mol) ^{-1})\div (2.0 Eq(mol) ^{-1}) = 27.469g(Eq)^{-1}\]
