Can someone tell me how to get the Depreciation Expense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've tried getting it by subtracting the 2 accumulated depreciations for each year but that was not the correct answer.

@phi

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

not sure, i would say it equals the accumulated depreciation since the amounts are negative it implies it is an expense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Don't you first adjust for the equipment sale (reduce 2011 by 35,622 cost and 18,800 depreciation)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ummmm i do not know...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15,832 -15,832 35,622 -35,622 47,496 11,874 Those are all the answers I have tried but were incorrect.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If like I said, then 34,632

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok that's right. how'd you get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What I said above 154,362-35622 =118740 and 47,496-18,800 = 28696 and then subtract from 63,328 is 34,632.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wheres the 18,800 from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

From the note at the bottom of the page, cost 35,622 - 16,822 book = 18,800 dep'n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o ok thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

U r welcome.
