all the atoms having net diapole moment zero cant exist as polyatomic why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure if understood your question but i think the answer is that all molecules such as CO2 which have net dipole moment 0 can exist as polyatomic or non bonded cause dipole moment has for a consequence that secondary bonds are created.... I hope that you understood what i meant to say...

@kryten in my ques i had asked for atoms because molecules<an atom aggregate>can exist with varying diplole but an atom??????what about atoms diapole????????/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i think i know now what you are trying to say, atoms with paired electrons in their shells are called diamagnetic and those with unpaired electrons are called paramagnetic so those with paired electrons wont be atracted in magnetic field and unpaired will

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly................

i am trying to assign i electron with one proton making one diapole......and then superimposing all diapoles...........
