Simplify the following quotient of complex numbers into the form a + bi -9+2i/-8-9i

OpenStudy (chaise):

Multiply the entire fraction by the complex conjugate. Do you need me to show you how to do this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is the same as this one http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/4f9530a1e4b000ae9ecb1d3d :)

OpenStudy (chaise):

Don't mean to be rude but I think this is wrong ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

show your answer :D

OpenStudy (chaise):

Multiply by the complex conjugate of the denominator. Effectively what you are doing is multipying a/a =1. You must then multiply the denominators and the numerators together. You will get rid of your imaginary value in the denominator (remembering: i^2=-1) and then you can split the fraction into its component form.

OpenStudy (chaise):

You are right, my apologies, just went about the question in a manner which is very foreign to me.

thanks CoCo

you are welcome :D
